Cascata Di Val Moett Waterfall

Located in the Valle Verzasca valley is this stunning Cascata Di Val Moett waterfall. You can choose to hike to the base for more enjoyment, or spot it from the other side of the river. It is one of the many waterfalls you can spot best between Spring and Summer in the Ticino canton. The waterfall is one of the easiest to spot while visiting the valley, suitable for all to see.

Switzerland Waterfall Fun

The Cascata di Val Moett waterfall is a spectacular waterfall that you can hike past, but also visible from the road on the other side of the river. So if driving up the valley, you will spot it! The pedestrian path takes you first over one of the bridges and then along the river to let you observe it closely.

The waterfall is around 30 meters in height and created with the Riale di Val Mött river. This is, like the Cascata La Froda, based in the Valle Verzasca valley.

How To Visit Cascata Di Val Moett

Google Maps Location: Gerra Froda, 6635 Gerra

To visit, driving is easiest and you can park at the address mentioned above. Else it is the same local bus 321 from Tenero that can get you here. You will need to get off at bus stop Gerra(Verzasca), Prato Maggiore.

From here you can choose to hike down or up to a local bridge, cross the river, and then back to the waterfall. It’s a lovely little route where you can follow the crystal clear water from the river.

From here, if you didn’t come by car, you could choose to hike further towards Sonogno or south of the valley.

Ticino Waterfall Tip: It’s not one of the waterfalls you can really swim at, but it’s still lovely to see in person up close or from the parking area. There are picnic benches near the parking area too, so its a great stop off location while exploring the valley.
