Located in Zermatt in the Valais canton, House Mojo is a stunning apartment we stayed at while visiting for a long weekend in the village. We loved our stay so much that we wanted to share our full, honest review in a short blogpost. This is 100% not sponsored, fully funded by ourselves and our own opinion. But we can already cut to the chase and share how we LOVED our stay at House Mojo in Zermatt!
House Mojo: Apartment Review
We found House Mojo advertised on Booking.com when searching for a place to stay for 3 nights in Zermatt, Switzerland. It was not the most expensive but also not the most cheapest. What sold it for us, was the photos of the breathtaking view of the Matterhorn straight from the living room.
On Booking, we could see that there were 4 different apartments at House Mojo to choose from. Our stay was in the apartment on the right of the building when facing towards to the Matterhorn, so we had the corner apartment with the huge floor to nearly ceiling windows on two sides.

Booking and Arrival
Before we checked in, the host/owner provided good, clear communication with us and all went smoothy for our arrival. She met us right at the front door when we arrived to hand over the keys and also provided an apartment tour to show us everything.
She was super friendly and warm welcoming! She realised we could also speak Dutch, but we ended up speaking English the whole time with her. During our stay we also had some additional communication, which was went all smoothly.
The apartment was on the 3rd floor, which was easily reachable with the large lift inside the building. This didn’t work at one point during our 3 night stay, but this issue was already known to the house owners and was going to get fixed. Of course a lift could break at any time, so it didn’t bother us. We simply got in some extra daily steps by taking the stairs!
Open Living, kitchen and Dining Room
The open living area had everything we needed, with a fully fitted kitchen of appliances. There was a bar-style high dining table with 4 stools opposite the kitchen, and a sofa and tv area at the other end (see photo below). You can also see in the photo that we had a small balcony with seating outside, but it was a little too cold for us to enjoy this!
Our evenings was well enjoyed playing some board games (that we bought with us) and by watching the TV. It had many channels for you to choose from, but we mainly watched some films on Netflix and listened to some music on the youtube app.
The kitchen was set up to have around 6 of everything, which was great if you were staying with friends in Zermatt. The kitchen also included products like baking sheets, salt, pepper and oil for cooking.

Bedroom and Bathroom
The bathroom was on the back side of the apartment and next to the bedroom. It was the perfect size for two people, which included a bath and shower for both options. This was great to have either options after a full day our in the snow! The only thing we realised that we were missing some shampoo and body soap provided, but apart from that it was a lovely clean bathroom.
The bedroom had plenty of space for us to unpack, even though we came only with hand luggage. As for the bed, this was like sleeping on a cloud – very comfy and soft! Based on the sheets and feathered duvet, it was also perfectly warm for the night. I would have personally preferred some thinner pillows, as I’m not a fan of the thicker pillow set up.
Overall
This apartment was absolutely stunning overall and definitely our style of accommodation. We loved the huge windows, which on a clear night was perfect to watch the stars and a glimpse of Jupiter from inside in the warm. It was also clean, cosy and even with the big windows we felt like we had plenty of privacy.
We would 100% return to Zermatt but would likely spend next time in another accommodation. We did enjoy staying at House Mojo in comfort and with no issues, but we personally always like to try another place when visiting the same location, just to get a new experience etc. But regardless of our own personal preference, we highly recommend staying at House Mojo for your first visit to Zermatt.
For those who are considering to visit with their own skiing gear or with a child who uses a pram, we saw plenty of secure and safe space in the building at the bottom near the lifts. This space was only accessible with a key and dedicated for these items.
For when the weather is a bit warmer, there is also a garden that you have access to. This would be great to use if you are visiting during the summer months and want to chill outside in the late warmer evenings.

What Is Nearby House Mojo?
Since the apartment is located in Zermatt, it’s in perfect walking distance from nearly everything.
The main connection nearby is the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise mountain cable car up to the Klein Matterhorn and Furi. This is perfect with just a 2 minute walk (150 meters) down the street to the entrance, easy if you are visiting during the wintery skiing season. Being so close means that you also see the cable car from the living room window, which is fun to watch all the skiers head up for the day or return after a day of adventure.
All restaurants are within the village of Zermatt as well as museums such as the Matterhorn Museum. For us this was perfect, since we were only visiting for a few nights and wanted to eat out in the evenings, so everything was within walking distance. Our restaurant recommendations can be found listed here.
There are of course also some really lovely, wintery things to do as non-skiers in Zermatt, which we have highlighted in our separate post. These things were perfect for the two of us while staying at House Mojo during our stay.
We hope you enjoyed reading our honest review about our stay at House Mojo!
