Warm up with hot cocoa and delicious freshly cooked food after a day on the slopes at Capanna Confin, the cozy restaurant at the newest ski and snowboard location of San Bernardino in Switzerland. This restaurant has become a beloved part of this new Alpine ski village, opened in December 2023.
Read on to discover what Capanna Confin has serving up for you while you discover the San Bernardino Resort in Grisons, Switzerland.
Where Is The Capanna Confin?
The Capanna Confin is at the arrival station of the Fracch-Confin Bas gondola in San Bernardino. This is at 1954m above sea level!
This has been newly opened since 27th December 2023 with the latest renovations of the San Bernardino Resort. So the whole capanna is pretty fresh, clean and very well presented.
It’s just a short 2 minute walk from the gondola station to the Capanna, which is slightly uphill but easy.
Address: Confin Bass, 6565 San Bernardino

Indoor and Outdoor Seating
This brand new cabin restaurant is self service as well as with a served area. There is plenty of seating inside for when you want to warm up, as well as outdoor seating on the terrace area directly outside. There are also a collection of deckchairs for those wanting to sit on the flat snow area too! Perfect for those wanting to chill in the sunshine.
The choices of food during our own visit was good, where we decided to take the risotto and penne pasta to try – both delicious. There was also a soup choice, roast beef and some chicken with fries.
We have noticed via their social media that they do offer different choices, so if you visit they will likely have something else on the menu. All did look delicious so you can’t go wrong with your choice!
For drinks, they had all the usual choices you can find in a restaurant like non alcoholic soft drinks, coffee and tea. They also have a few choices of alcohol, such as our favourite Aperol Spritz, wines and local beer.
As you can see below, the menu prices range from 10 to 25 CHF during our visit for the food choices. So for our choices, we paid 32 CHF combined (without drinks).
INFO: You can pay by card and cash here.
The set up is very easy once inside for the food and drinks, similar to many other locations where you can stop and eat at during a skiing day. You start with collecting a tray, the utensils and a napkin. Then you follow around to what you want dished up by the staff, else to take the self service options already available.
It’s very easy to see above each area what they are serving and where. And then you follow to the right to get your drinks at the end, any condiments and to pay.

Once you’ve eaten and finished, make sure to put your trays in the cleaning areas dotted around the restaurant. This is super helpful to clear away your own plates and make room for those coming to sit for their own food. This is respectable for everyone who works there as well as other visitors.
You can visit the restaurant with the San Bernardino gondola for as little as 10 CHF per person. Check our other San Bernardino post for how!
