On the 17th June 2023 at Mollis Airport, there was an event to celebrate Porsche 75th year anniversary. We decided to take a road trip from Lugano to visit for the day, since we enjoy car shows, meet ups and racing events.
About The Porsche 75 Year Anniversary Festival
This event at Mollis Airport turned out to be the largest Porsche meeting in Switzerland for 2023, with over 1500 cars – from the original 356 model, to the all-electric Porsche Taycan.
The event planners transformed the Mollis Airfield, set against the unique backdrop of the Glarus Alps, into a multifaceted interactive world for sports car fans. Everyone with a passion for sports car was welcome with a free visitor ticket – whether they were a Porsche driver, Porsche fan, classic car lover or motorsport enthusiast.
They had many festival zones to explore and walk around too, such as:
- Gallery of Dreams – vehicle exhibition arranged in chronological order
- Soul Garage – customisation information and original parts.
- Paddocks – drinks, food trucks and seating
- Pit Lane – information on the future of Porsche motorsports and memories of the Le Mans 24h.
- Driving Lane – watch and take a high-speed chauffeured ride in the all-electric Porsche Taycan or one of the other driving activities in current Porsche models

How To Get There
The event is held at the Mollis Airport in the Glarus canton, which can be easily reached within Switzerland. For example:
- From Lugano to Mollis Airport – this takes 2 hours 30 minutes
- From Zurich to Mollis Airport – this takes only 45 minutes
- From Lucerne to Mollis Airport – this takes 1 hour

Visiting Tips
Once at the Mollis Airport event, it was free for visitors and if you had a visitor pass, you could also pick up a little souvenir from the festival. If you however owned a Porsche and wanted to be included in the Gallery of Dreams, you need to pay a little amount for securing your spot. On the event for 2023, this costed 45 CHF to be included.
They had lots of parking available, which we had no issues finding a spot when we arrived at lunch time. Some were also already leaving, since the festival was open from 10am, so there was a flow of rotation of visitors.
We personally didn’t get any food or drink here, since like most festival grounds, it takes forever to queue up and get something. So we stayed and explored the event and then headed out for a late lunch in the region.
