Where To Rent A Pedalo In Lugano

In Lugano, there are two places you can rent a Pedalo in Lugano, which are right in the city center area. These are the little red car looking boats that have foot paddles that you have to activate to move forward on the water. So it’s like cycling while sat down on the water!

The first location can be found right next to the Lugano Centrale docking port for the bigger touristic boats. This is right opposite the Piazza della Riforma square as well as near the pick up point for the local red touristic train.

The second location is closer to Parco Ciani, right opposite the local casino and club called Seven. You will easily see the pedalo rental location when walking along the promenade under the trees.

Personal Experience Renting A padel boat Here

Renting a pedalo in Lugano is truly a fun way to be on the water for a short time, especially for those just visiting on a day trip but also for locals and those visiting longer. We decided to rent a pedalo in Lugano for 30 minutes during one sunny afternoon. These 30 minutes was perfect for us, and we’d definitely do it again on another day!

We felt completely safe while renting a pedalo from the local company. They showed us how to use it, which was super simple by cycling with your feet on the internal controls. They spoke English rather well too, likely due to this being rather touristic.

As soon as you are in one of the pedalos, you are free to foot paddle around the lakeside for your time. You cannot of course go all the way tot he other side of the lake, but you do have quite a bit of freedom to take it a little far out. We enjoyed this option to take photos from the lake’s point of view!

When arriving back at the docking area, one of the staff members greets you to tie the pedalo up before you climb out.
