Switzerland’s Most Welcoming Region on Earth 2025

Here you can understand what the Traveller Review Awards and how the region of Graubünden was chosen.

Traveller Review Awards 2025

The goal of Booking.com’s Traveller Review Awards for 2025 is to honour the little additional effort that goes into making every experience memorable, whether it’s a fantastic stay at an accommodation booked via the website, or the ideal ride via their car rentals. Booking.com honour their global partners’ amazing hospitality and transportation offerings.

Which is great to see that for 2025 it includes one region in Switzerland!

Booking processed this awards based on the following:

“To be recognized with an award, accommodation partners had to have an average review score of 8.0 (out of 10) or higher based on at least 3 reviews, as of 11:59pm (CET) on November 30, 2024. Car rental partners had to have an average review score of 8.0 (out of 10) or higher based on at least 10 reviews, as of 11:59pm (CET) on October 31, 2024. To be recognized with an award, taxi providers had to have an average review score of 4.6 (out of 5) or higher and completed 2,000 rides as of 11:59pm (CET) on November 30, 2024.“

Facts About Graubünden

Graubünden in German, also known as Grisons in English and Grigioni in Italian, is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland.

This region / canton is located in the Eastern part of Switzerland.

Many of those living in the Graubünden canton can understand and speak Romansh, Switzerland’s 4th national language, which has an official status here.

The canton is often known as “Little Switzerland”.

Grisons is also one of the birthplaces for winter spots, with Davos and Saint Moritz as the two popular locations.

The capital of the Graubünden canton is Chur, with over 30,000 residents living here.

The famous Bernia Express train is one of the most scenic train rides in Switzerland that passes through Graubünden.
