Design and Location

Situated just meters from the lake shore in Paradiso Lugano, the fountain’s strategic placement enhances the scenic beauty of the waterfront. Its illumination at night provides a mesmerizing visual experience, making it a focal point for both locals and tourists.

Significance

The water jet not only serves as an aesthetic enhancement to the lakeside but also symbolizes the blend of modern engineering with the natural landscape of Lugano. Its continuous operation since 2004 has made it a landmark attraction in the region.

Visiting tips

For visitors seeking a picturesque view, the fountain is easily accessible via the Riva Paradiso promenade by foot, offering a serene environment to enjoy this water spectacle.

Paradiso in general is a beautiful location to walk along the promenade from, where you can walk alongside the trees and the lake. Near the water jet, there are often Paradiso events held nearby. So keep a look out for something fun to join.

There is an outdoor gym area near the water jet, which is free to use. Many runners also stop along the way here for a few additional workouts.

There are lounge chairs and stools along the lakeside, so that you can sit and relax in the warm Ticino sunshine while visiting.

There is also a little old phone booth, which these days is used for 2nd hand books. If you have a book you no longer need, drop it off here and someone may pick it up on their next visit. And you are more than welcome to also take a book to read too!

You can watch the boats pass by, which do daily trips around the lake to many locations. You can consider a Lugano boat trip too!

Walking here in the evening is very pretty, with warm lights lighting up along the promenade.
